Pinkspector - Pink Noise Generator + Line Tester
Description
"Pinkspector"
MADE IN GERMANY
What is a Pinkspector?
With multiple lines to rig in a limited time, working on stage can be really challenging (but fun). Rig My Gig always believes in having high quality tools at one's disposal.
Pinkspector is a Rig My Gig exclusive Pink Noise Generator with an inbuilt Line/Cable tester that runs on phantom power. Housed in a male XLR connector, a red multifunction LED on the top also helps identify defective/faulty cable or lines.
Instant line tester for a fast test on the stage
In most cases it will help avoid the use of a multimeter to detect a faulty line.
Functions
LED ON - Line OK, Pink Noise ON
LED OFF - No Phantom Power or PIN 1 FAULT
LED BLINKS TWICE - PIN 2 FAULT
LED BLINKS THRICE - PIN 3 FAULT
Specifications
The pink noise signal is a filtered white noise signal with a -3dB/octave filter.
Amplitude of the signal is about 100mV peak to peak.
The output of the signal is balanced between pin 2 and 3.
The power supply is the 9-48V Phantom power from the console, no battery required.
The output of the XLR generator is balanced.
Dimensions: 74 × 19 (length × diameter)mm.
What can a Pinkspector not do?
Pinkspector cannot detect phase inversion. Example in cases where pin 2 and 3 are swapped.
Pinkspector will not detect every defect in the cable but it will help to identify 90% of the common faults found on the stage, during installations or inside studios.
Usage Note
The output of the tester is approximately -27dBu, so it may be wise to reduce the channel gain, in certain circumstances, before connecting the tester.
